The Reformer's Firebrand

*-{The New Canadian Colonist's Advocate }-* A commentary of fiery reformist sentiment from the spirit of it's 210 year old Canadian ghost publisher patron. This will be a home to the new wave of anti-partisan advocacy for defeating Canada's second "family compact" and reinstallation of responsible governance in this 21st century new Canadian democratic dominion.

A poignant chain letter

I recieved this chain letter in an email and I thought I'd share it with you along with some comment and see what you think of the sentiment expressed here:

This is an editorial written by an Toronto newspaper. He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS, NOT CanadiansMUST ADAPT.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Canadians. However..... the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Canada Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of Canada being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Canadians....... we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH/FRENCH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"We Stand On Guard For Thee" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women.......on Christian principles............. founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home.........because God is part of our culture.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. But once you are done complaining....... whining...... and griping....... about our flag....... our pledge...... our national motto........or our way of life....I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other Great Canadian Freedom....... THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Can't add much to this except to say the nation was founded and built by 2 Christian cultures under 2 languages and 2 types of law ( Napoleonic Code and British commonlaw)....this was PET's "two solitudes" which ( along with the first nations culture) prompted the original usage of the concept of multi-culture as expressed in the charter.....this construct has since been abominated into the current misinterpretation by successive statist federal regimes operating under the premises of cultural marxist engineered society....they think that the original 2 solitudes should be expanded to mean unlimited multiple solitudes...many nations within a nation and many cultures within a culture......in the end this results in loss of national identity just as the communist menifesto prescibes under the heading "cultural homogenization".

There are 3 things which define a nation:

Common language
common custom/culture
Constitutionally Defined and defended borders

We have seen dangerous compromise on all 3 of these "binding agents" of nationalism, curtosy of federal regimes dabbling in cultural Marxism. A nation so divided cannot long stand.

As I said somewhere else...this is why I am living this sorry excuse of a country for the U.S. At least there I and my better-half may be able to gain back something we have lost here; national identity and a sense of patriotism and pride in one's country. Plus the added bonus of an automatic 36% raise increase once we cross the border(at todays rates and taxes)...ummmm...having a hard time seeing the downside going there.

The States is no longer a refuge for those seeking the lost freedoms of our forefathers....just dont be Christian and armed or you'll be incinerated by the FBI and BATF...remember Waco.

We have a better chance of reserecting Canadian liberty than the Americans have of regaining their lost liberties...our government hasn't the military or financial resources to fight a protracted civil political battle with Canadians seeking a return to democratic government.

In the US, reponsible, accountable government has been lost to big government, big military and big secret police agencies who are undermining American liberty at a frightening rate.

The Patriot movement in the US has been targeted by both statist federal parties, the collective left, hollywood, the establisment media and the lilitary industrial complex cronies as "evil" terrorists"....all they represent is the values of the founding fathers and they stand on guard for the constitution.....the collective mega-state has deemed true patriotism in the US to be "domestic terror"....they are in their twilight as a free nation.

This chain letter is not only biased propaganda, it is also based on a lie.

This letter was written for the United States, and altered to fit Canada. Cf. • http://www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/beamerican.html

This alteration is even poorly done, evident by "an Toronto" and the part about "we stand on guard for Thee" being Christian rhetoric, when it makes much more sense in regards to "in God we trust."

Canada was not founded by Christians. This land was here, and populated, prior to the arrival of the English and French. Using Christianity as our national identity only reinforces the exploitation and usurpation undertaken by the Europeans. Insisting on English as our language is equally horrifying.

I am very disturbed by the monocultural nature of this letter. To use the possibly clichéd descriptors, I am even more disturbed that someone rewrote it to take it out of the context of the American cultural melting pot, to which it clearly applies, and forced it on our Canadian cultural mosaic, which stands for the exact opposite principles than the ranter proclaims.

The bigots should be made to read the wording of the Canadian Multiculturalism Act, which is available in full at http://www.solon.org/Statutes/Canada/English/C/CMA.html

Here in Canada, multiculturalism is the law.
