MSM gets it wrong again: Cop Killer was armed by Quebec judge

Just finished listening to a news conference from the Laval police discussing the facts in the case where a Laval police officer was murdered on a routine call by a suspect who shot her through the wall of his apartment then had an armed stand off with police.

The facts missed by all the MSM was that the suspect had a lengthy criminal record and was on a court ordered 10 year prohibition from owning firearms after a convition of threatening and harrasing police officers!

The suspect was given a dispensation of the prohibition recently by a Quebec judge and allowed to buy a "rifle for the purposes of hunting only"......so he had a legally owned .338 bolt gun in his possession after a history of violent behaviour towards police...he used it to go on a final "hunt" for police officers.

With the ample punch a .338 has (used primarily for single shot kills on Elk, Moose and bear at ranges out to 200 yards) the officer hadn't a chance even with balistic armor and a drywall between her and the muzzel of this nut's gun. Driving a 200grain bullet at 2,950 feet per second and providing a smashing 3,864 ft. lbs of energy near the muzzel, the unfortunate victim had little chance to survive......handguns are 10 times less lethal and will normally not penetrate a police ballistic vest, but Martin falsely paints them as more deadly to police.

This is the 3rd murderer who has been legally armed by Quebec coirts an police firearms bureaucrats....Valarie Fabrikant and Mark Lepin ( Gamil Gharbi) were both mass murderers with open histories of mental illness and domestic violence complaints who were issued a firearms licence in disregard of these histories.

Please Mr Martin tell me again how useful is the long gun and pistol registry?

Debris Trail is quite familiar with the .338, he lugged one around for many years. Even if that poor officer managed to catch it in the vest, I doubt it would have made any difference.

Most urbanites are people who have never touched, or even seen a gun. They have incredible misconceptions about their uses and abilities. A standard scoped hunting rifle is incredibly powerful and deadly, arguably more so than falsely titled "assault rifles" that were banned in the states. Incidentally they're also banned here.

On Canada's justice system, this case is very illuminating. The courts had the ability to keep this guy unarmed, at least legally, which doesn't mean all that much. Even then, they failed that most basic step.

Meanwhile, Martin proposes laws to further clamp down on the millions of law abiding citizens.

Its a sad state of affairs indeed.

p.s. I can see a new ban on the horizon already. A ban on all rifles over .338 cal.

"These deadly cop killers must be taken off the streets!"

They'll be branding common hunting rifles..."sniper guns" or High powered cop killers...yep you bet...that's the plan keep the blind in a constant hysteria with disinformation....the police state will eventually emerge.

"p.s. I can see a new ban on the horizon already. A ban on all rifles over .338 cal."

P.S. I heard the cop spokes thingie giveing the press scrum over this refer to somrthing similar to what you alledge. I don't know what goes on in the cop brain that makes them always exagerate or disinform where firearms are concerned but they always like to shock or frighten fecless pressies who ask then technical questions about firearms.

In this case a reporter asked what type of gun would shoot through a wall ( he obviously doeasn't realize how flimsy gyp-rock is and van be penetrated with a good boot) and kill a constible...the police thingie responds; " dat dis here gun his da big calibers gun dat dey uses in da jungles to shoot 'helephants eh" (sorry couldn't resist mocking the thick quebecois accent he had yet he was scamming the media guy with a straight face trying to scare him...friggin' hilarious.)

So Dere er ah there you have it....the official police word that would make you believe the the .338 Winchester mag is a powerful effective dispatcher of elephants....of course no sane African guide would allow a client to face dangerous game with something as underpowered as a .338 which is designed to anchor game 1000s of pound lighter and a shit load less dangerous.

The "tree turdy hate" winchester is just a necked up version of the .300 win mag which I have used as a mule deer, elk, antelope and moose dispatcher for years. Winchester put a .338 200-230 grain pill on the necked up .300 cartridge to be more effective on moose and elk... thinking that a larger bullet launched at the near same velocities of a .300 would be more effective in staying together if they hit the large bones of these big boned ungulates. In it's release in 1958 the initial test by the American rifleman testing its ballistics said it was a designer moose gun but its a stretch to use it on grizz or other large dangerous game....that is .375 H&H and .458 mag territory...wonder what constible spokes-thingie would classify the .375 H&H as...a shoulder launched howitzer for killing tanks?? Man, for anyone who is familiar with ballistics and firearms technology the info we get from the police is constantly a source of humor as it's such amateurish fear mongering.

But you have to realize this constant barrage of hollywood horror flick magic that they associate with common firearms has a purpose...and it does tip us off to the fact the cops are playing the same police state politics with us as the liberal global statists are....and for firearms owners who are not fooled by these public fear mongering theatrics it's another nail in the coffin for civilian trust and cooperation with the police who are becoming less civil, more political, militaristic and more blind statists in their nature.

Like I said it's hard to find a cop these days you can trust.

Nothing will come out of this,Bill. If the Conservatives mention it,the Liberals will accuse them of using this young officer's death for political purposes. And the Liberals will use it to keep on condemming guns.

Well yeah they can try but the public and the reasoning media are a whole lot smarter than they were 10 years ago when they swallowed the 2 billion dollar scare mongering...they've been burned and now it is important to them because lots of people who don't own guns seehow they were cheated out of 2 billion because they bought a shit-line on liberal gun control ideas.

The tide is slowly turning....in some areas of the country Martin's gun banning mewling was laughed at and saw their numbers tank....this zealotous anti-gun crap only appeals to the most twisted lefty and they only amount to 12-14%.

Martin gravely wounded his credibility with this gun hysteria and he's be a fool to tank it deeper by opening up the can of worms this police shooting represents...I mean fer godsake man it was some dizzy judge that armed this punk after he has a prohibition...essentially the bench killed that cop...wanna bet the judge responsible is some inept liberal patronage appointee?

Liberal spin has been gravely silent about this shooting.

Yep, I noticed the silence as well.

Thats the thing with the gun registery, no matter what happens, it proves that the registery doesn't work.

Was the gun unregistered? The registery failed because the gun slipped through the system.

Was the gun registered? The registery failed because registered or not, it kills ya just the same.

Was the shooter unlicensed? The registery failed because he was still able to obtain a gun.

Was the shooter licensed? The registery failed because the back-ground checks did not peg this guy as a killer.

And so on and so forth.

The four officers killed in AB were killed by a system that did not lock the criminal up; even the local RCMP were afraid of him. In Quebec today, the same thing happened, the no-it-all liberal appointed party hack judge let a dangerous man have a gun.

When will Canadians learn that it's not guns, but people and panty waiste liberals that kill people.

Bill, I think I have figured the registry out. There's a large map at Librano HQ with red stick pins for where the long guns are duly tucked away. As long as they remain clustered safely away from H'Ottawa, everything is cool. They won't worry until they graphically see a circle of registered scoped long guns - that can drop a statist boar from a rooftop - encroaching on the Limestone Folly on the Hill.

The cops? Always want the latest guns. Fight firepower with bigger and better firepower. Nothing new there.
