The Reformer's Firebrand

*-{The New Canadian Colonist's Advocate }-* A commentary of fiery reformist sentiment from the spirit of it's 210 year old Canadian ghost publisher patron. This will be a home to the new wave of anti-partisan advocacy for defeating Canada's second "family compact" and reinstallation of responsible governance in this 21st century new Canadian democratic dominion.

A Pivitol Day for Canadian Democracy

As the final day for voting approaches, we as Canadians go to the polls this time , not to vote for our self interests ( that is what has brought is to the precipice of devisive partisanism), we go to the polls tomorrow to renew Canadian democracy by changing governemnts. Hopefully that change will bring the anticipated ethical, transparent, inclusive renewal of the Canadian parliament and confederalism.

Not only is the out going regime visionless, arrogant and narcissistic but they also deserve our scorn for the degenerated state of law, democracy, civil liberty and confederation they have foisted on the nation with their persuit of the single party state and the party dynasties, influence brokering and nepotistic federalism that comes with it.

Tomorrow we have the opportunity to remove this road block from stagnating the political maturation of Canada and the democratic evolution of this nation.

As we go to the polls tomorrow, I have some favorite insights to share with you into the debased politics of a patronage brokering governing cartel, like the liberals have run the past decade:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage." [Alexander Tyler]

"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."[H. L. Mencken]

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.” —P.J. O'Rourke, Parliament of Whores

What is this oozing behemoth, this fibrous tumor, this monster of power and expense hatched from the simple human desire for civic order? How did an allegedly free people spawn a vast, rampant cuttlefish of dominion with its tentacles in every orifice of the body politic?” —P.J. O'Rourke, Parliament of Whores

"In general the art of government consists in taking as much money as possible from one class of citizens to give to the other." [Voltaire]

"A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away." Barry Goldwater

"Everyone wants to live at the expense of the State. They forget that the State lives at the expense of everyone." Frederic Bastiat

"A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul. "..........George Bernard Shaw

"Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else". ........Frederic Bastiat, French Economist (1801-1850)

There's a good chance that the Liberals will cheat like hell today

I agree analogue...we saw the voter list magic hyjinx in Screech's riding and the payola in the BC riding and the dirty innuendo in the Sask. riding and we also know there are tousands of official blamk ballots out there and we have seen descrepencied between the EC voters list and siome local voter's lists that the liberal incumbents are using.....we gotta keep our scrutineers gaotta keep their eyes peeled.

ALL close races with a Liberal should be recounted and the entire process rescutinized for anomolies...these are the dirtyest lot of poll defrauders ever.

Well said Bill. I just got in from Scrutineering. It looked like our polling stations had a lot of people voting. Usually high turnouts are "change" turnouts. Let's hope!!!!

I shudder at the amount we're gonna have to pay for replacement paper shredders that, as I write this, are burning out clear across the nation in fed offices as we speak...

Last night was but one step on the way...

The warm-up, that is... and the spring cleaning. Gotta get rid of all the rats' nests and do something about the rats themselves, too. Damned if we have any idea of the extent of the mess they've made lo so many long years!

IT'S MORNING IN CANADA!

BTW, Mr. Dither's expression lately reminds me of a naughty kid's own when he realizes he's gonna get a few whacks from the dreaded strap...

There's gotta be justice!
