The Reformer's Firebrand

*-{The New Canadian Colonist's Advocate }-* A commentary of fiery reformist sentiment from the spirit of it's 210 year old Canadian ghost publisher patron. This will be a home to the new wave of anti-partisan advocacy for defeating Canada's second "family compact" and reinstallation of responsible governance in this 21st century new Canadian democratic dominion.

Bloggers for Katrina relief funding

Regulars here at the Firebrand may want to join me in donating to the Katrina victim's relief funding. Even if our sociopathic PM continues to play crass political games, that means Canadians will have to pick up where their degenerate political leadership has failed.

I understand the main needs right now for people in the disaster area is shelter and the re-establishment of law and order... relief from the elements and bands of looters. For this reason my choice of charity is the American red cross who are on the ground with safe shelters to take homeless people in from the floods and anarchy.

The ultimate relief will be in building the proper levees that New Orleans needs to be safe from future hurricanes. New Orleans is essentially a drained swamp...a "below seal level bowl" which resides on the gulf coast. The only thing between them and disaster was the surrounding flood levees which proved to be woefully inadiquate. This is a job for the Army Corps of engineers and state funding. For us as neighbors, we could be supplying the much needed expertise in re-establishing law and order and infrastructure like communications.

Here's a Blogger meeting point for relief coordination.

Political correctness toxin alert: This just in from ABC: Affiliate radio stations will temporarily suspend The Tragicly Hip song: "New Orleans is sinking" and the Lead Zepplin song: "The levee's gonna break" from play lists as a sign of respect for flood victims....OMG how toxic does this synthetic empathy have to get before we cut it loose.

Bill, put in another 100.00 US, so that totals 300.00. Also recorded it.

Sounds like a lot, and it is for me, but I'm so pissed with the feds I don't care.

Besides my meager contribution to the Sally Ann, I would like the government to tell the US government to just keep the contravail softwood lumber duty that they have stolen from us - providing that they send it to New Orleans additionally to the $10.5 billion that their Congress have already voted to spend on relief.
- and providing also that they don't spend it on the contract that they had pre-arranged with Halliburton for cleaning up what they knew was gonna happen!

Right on Nomad....keep the trade penalty and pump it into shelter for hurricane relief, with our compliments...think of it as our "offical" governmental contribution ;-)

However your fixation with Halibuton is misplaced Nomad....instead, you may want to focus your attention on Canada's Powercor, it's alumnus and the scandals they continually pop up in ( it's all that the Moonbat left accuse Haliberton of and more...what's worse is it's all real and they are based in Canada)...fucking embarassing stuff for a Canadian to take.....I get sick of apologising for these globalist greedheads and the bootlicker PMs they buy.
