Putin Punts terroist ass-kissing media
Interesting development in Russia today. We get to see how a statist regime deals with a wayward media. Although I find it repugnant to defend the dyslexic editorializing of ABC, I find the control of information by the state far more appalling. However on the up-side how large is Russia or China's pro-terrorist political lobby...or party for that matter?????

This is a perfect example of why we fight for the right for idiots to have their say. The alternative ain't pretty!
I have never believed that Putin embraces democracy. He simply has no choice for the moment. He allows himself to be carried along for the sake of expediency. Even tolerated a tongue lashing and a firm haul back into line by the president of the United States.
He strikes me as a man biding his time. I simply don't trust him.
Once KGB always KGB.
Yes it is.
And the same applies to our Feds.
They, like Putin 'pretend' that we live under a democracy when we clearly do not.
Russians, however, are under NO illusions. They have been given their freedom to exercise their rights as they will.
Trouble is all manner of unsavoury characters have taken over to the point they decry the old system and wail they were 'better off under communism'.
This is dangerously close to what happened in Germany. They HAD democracy and found it 'scary' and 'unmanageable'... playing right into the hands of those who had made it 'scary' and 'unmanageable' in the first place: The Nazis.
These two examples parallel the mood of some in this country.
They KNOW that our media is propagandizing for the libs and don't damn well care.
They LIKE the government providing and want Nanny Canada to continue no matter the realities in the background: This is funded not by corporate largess to those less fortunate, but ON the BACKS of hardworking and long working Canadians who really have passed the saturation point a long time ago.
