The Reformer's Firebrand

*-{The New Canadian Colonist's Advocate }-* A commentary of fiery reformist sentiment from the spirit of it's 210 year old Canadian ghost publisher patron. This will be a home to the new wave of anti-partisan advocacy for defeating Canada's second "family compact" and reinstallation of responsible governance in this 21st century new Canadian democratic dominion.

Surrendering freedom to fanatics.

Every Blog out there is consumed in the recent furor over the radcial fundamentalist Muslim reaction to the Danish-published Mohamed cartoons. Don't expect me to flog that horse here as it is amply flogged so well by every blogger who belives free expression trumps the hurt feelings of intolerant fanatics.

What I do want to do here is take that incident and cut to the core of it's substance.....in essence the Muslim reaction to the Danish cartoons amounts to unbridled, foamy mouthed, mob fanaticism. Western media who buy into this fanaticism and willingly castrate their right/duty to freely express commentary and criticism of political and religious institutions, are guilty of aiding fanaticism by giving in to it.......

......and isn't this the very nucleus of political correctness.....giving in to fanaticism...willing subordinance or an enforced regime which caters to the inherent intolerance of fantics and their duplicitous orthodoxies.

An item to illustrate the concept of surrendering to fanaticism:

Hot cross buns too offensive for school

Hot cross buns
A school in the United Kingdom has banned traditional hot cross buns for fear the religious symbol drawn on the top of each roll might offend some students.
"I would be surprised if anyone was offended," commented the Rev. Haley Dossor, vicar at St Mary-at-the-Elms Church. "It seems to me people in the secular world are scared of religious symbols. The school is quite wrong. All religions should respect each other."

The local pastor of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation applauded the school’s decision. " Hot cross buns are a pagan symbol of fertility no different to bunnies, eggs and Easter. The Bible states we should not worship things of a pagan origin.”

No information was available about what sort of services the school had been planning to allow students to worship the buns or whether they had been cancelled. Moreover, the school did not say whether the buns would be inspected by the local Muslim or Catholic authorities for possible accidental appearances of religious figures in the patterns formed by the currants in the buns.

And the insanity of submitting to fanaticism goes on and on and on......

Hey Bill: I couldn't agree with you more. At some point, simply taunting the Islamo-fascists by posting the cartoons is an act of freedom. It's all become so convoluted, simply because our leadership has created a monster through the pandering to thugs via the UN and political correctness. Had the west not created such a bizarre definition of tolerance, Muslims would have learned long ago that murderous rants go nowhere. Instead, they've learned that just the opposite is true. That the Western elites can be cowed, and in the process institutions like the UN and EU hijacked.

Normally, I would never have posted offensive religious material; but I came to the conclusion, that by passively posting the cartoons, we as a society were saying enough is enough. We need not sit as equals with thugs, we need not tolerate thugs, we need not pretend that thugs are "peaceful", and we need not tolerate our own leader's cowardice.

How in the hell can we defend liberty at home, and guard against the degrading of our democracy when we can't stand up to "evil" when it is so damn obvious? How can you fight a snake in the grass, when you ignore a Bengal Tiger walking over to eat you?

Bill, can you double check my math? I am calculating around 28 years for the Muslims to behead all of the infidels. Can it possibly be that long? Did my WinDoze calculator drop a digit?

Shaken & DT: We note that there are NO muslim problems in China and Russia....totalitarian states are adept in dealing with dissent....whether that dissent is unjustified theocratic fanaticism or democracy demonstrations.

OTOH it isn't wise to be swept up in any anti-muslim fanaticism as well...all this aids are the banking interests who want to finince a wider UN/US-Muslim war in the Mid east. There is ample evidence the muslim reactions were enflamed by western intel agents running a typical psy-ops plan to encorage the EU to join/finance an Iranian invasion.

Muslim clerics haven't got a monopoly on fanaticism....its an equal opportunity corrupter
